Dating from circa 1850–1900, this exceptional storage jar from Shandong Province, China, was originally used for storing water, alcohol or fermented foods. Its notably heavy form is finished in a deep brown glaze with beautifully aged tonal variation, while fine horizontal lines add subtle texture across the surface.

Now reimagined as a table lamp, its sculptural presence and rich patina lend depth and character to an interior.
